Day 1 Arrival in Glencar
From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Killarney and then on to Glenbeigh*. From Glenbeigh, take a Taxi to the remote and beautiful valley of Glencar.
Please remember that the last bus leaves Killarney at 15.00. There are no bus connections between Killarney and Glenbeigh on Sundays. -
Day 2 Glencar to Glenbeigh
8 or 11 Miles / 13 or 18 Km 4-7 Hrs 340/410 MetresToday’s walk through the so-called “Highlands of Kerry” starts from the Climber’s Inn at Glencar. A track junction near Seefin Mountain allows you to choose between one of two routes that lead you into Glenbeigh. Whichever one you take, they’re both beautiful!

Day 3 Glenbeigh - Foilmore
11 Miles / 18 Km 5-7 Hrs 400/525 MetresYou have the choice to visit the beautiful Rossbeigh Strand before an old coach path takes you around Drung Hill where you pass above the old railway viaduct – a reminder of old local trade routes. Descend into the Ferta River Valley and continue to Foilmore. Overnight in nearby Cahersiveen.

Day 4 Depart from Cahersiveen
There is a bus service from Cahersiveen to Killarney. From Killarney, continue on to Dublin, Cork or Limerick by bus or by train. Full details provided upon booking.
