Julia Castello Hillwalk Tours

Julia is from France and fell in love with Ireland 4 years ago during a trip to Lisdoonvarna to visit a friend. At that time, she was finishing her Master’s degree in the south of France and managed to get an Erasmus year in Galway where she wrote her thesis about Irish History, Myths and legends. She’s had experience in various fields before joining the team : Language Assistant, Customer Service, Retail and Translation, but she says, Hillwalk Tours seemed like a company that shared her values, and would enable her to use her knowledge and passion for foreign cultures and history.

Julia’s main role in Hillwalk tours is to make walking packs, the hiking guides that are sent to our customers. These include maps, itineraries, activity suggestions and much more! She also answers customer’s queries and thoroughly enjoys helping them book tours, always aiming to make sure they have the best experience possible. Julia enjoys the fact that tours can be personalised depending on people’s needs or preferences, which makes their experience unique.

When she’s off, Julia enjoys meeting up with her friends at the pub or for a road trip. Despite being from the south of France, rain and cold weather don’t bother her, and she says it gives her even more reasons to go and enjoy a walk outside and hang out in small cafes. She also loves everything related to the Fantasy genre : Video games, books, movies, tv shows and role playing games, which keeps her busy at the weekend.
