Make 1 FREE date change for any reason to your booking

To help you book a walking tour with Hillwalk Tours with confidence, we’re delighted to announce that customers can now make one date change, for any reason, to their booking for free, up to 30 days before the start of their tour. This will allow you to change the start date of your tour to another date in 2024 or 2025 if any circumstances arise that mean you will not be able to take your tour on the original date booked.

In the past, this would have incurred administrative charges, but this charge has now been waived for all new bookings.

Terms and Conditions:

  • You are entitled to one free date change per booking, for any reason
  • Changes can be made up to 30 days before departure (subject to availability) provided that you have paid your balance
  • Departure date must be before 31 December 2025

Cancel your tour for any reason

Additionally, we want to give customers the peace of mind that their tour can be cancelled at any time up to 15 days before the start of a tour, for any reason, without a financial penalty. To avail of this opportunity, everyone who books a Hillwalk Tour will be offered the chance to add the ‘Cancel your tour for any reason’ clause to their booking at a fee of €50.00/£50.00 per person (Please Note: To activate the ‘cancel for any reason’ clause on your booking, all tour participants are required to purchase this clause). This will be offered to customers by e-mail after their initial deposit of €100.00/£100.00 per person has been paid to secure their booking.

Hillwalk Tours always recommends that customers buy complete travel insurance for their hiking trip to cover, amongst other things, medical expenses and repatriation in the event of illness or injury. The ‘Cancel your tour for any reason’ clause is additionally recommended to ensure you are not out of pocket if your circumstances change and your trip needs to be cancelled for any reason.

*This clause can only be used if cancelling a tour more than 15 days before the start of a tour. Tours that are cancelled within 15 days of the start of the tour are subject to normal cancellation T&Cs.

** This clause can be purchased up to 7 days after a deposit payment has been received and to customers booking more than 6 weeks in advance of their tour start date. Purchase of the clause is non-refundable.

*** This clause does not cover non-refundable credits already being held for customers

**** To activate the ‘cancel for any reason’ clause on your booking, all tour participants are required to purchase the clause.

Brexit advice for travelers

On the 31st January 2020, the United Kingdom (UK) left the European Union (EU). For an understanding of how this may impact on your travel to the United Kingdom (i.e. England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland, including Antrim, but not the Republic of Ireland), please read the following;

For EU, EEA or Swiss citizens: EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can continue to travel to the UK for holidays or short trips without needing a visa. From October 1, 2021, you will only be able to enter the UK using a valid passport.

Irish citizens can continue to travel freely to the UK under the Common Travel Area (CTA).

For Non-EU/EEA visitors: Brexit has no impact on non-EU/EEA visitors travelling to the United Kingdom. Therefore, nothing will change for these travelers who should continue to following normal visa guidelines for visiting the UK.

Travelling to Northern Ireland from the Republic of Ireland: Under the Northern Ireland Protocol, the island of Ireland will continue to have no land border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This means that people can travel freely between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Therefore, if you are traveling to Northern Ireland for your Antrim Glens & Coastline tour while transiting through an airport in the Republic of Ireland, you will be able to freely travel to Northern Ireland without any border check.
