  • Day 1 Arrival in Lahinch

  • Day 2 Cliffs of Moher Discovery Day

    12.5 Miles / 20 Km 5-6 Hrs 1410 ft / 430 Metres

    Today’s Discovery Day takes you to one of Ireland’s most iconic landmarks from four different angles, combining two hikes, a visit to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, and an Atlantic cruise into a single, varied day.
    Part 1: A scenic hike along the official Burren Way from Lahinch, starting on the promenade and beach before heading inland on country roads with some steep sections and good views opening up toward Liscannor.
    Part 2: An afternoon transfer to the Cliffs of Mohr & Visitor Centre where you can explore the most famous 1.5km section of the trail and enjoy breath-taking views of the cliffs that rise vertically more than 200m from the sea.
    Part 3: After another short transfer, you rejoin the trail for a 6km hike along well-maintained gravel and grassy paths, with sweeping sea views throughout. A walk through the colourful village of Doolin brings you to your accommodation.
    Part 4: After your hike, a Cliffs of Moher cruise along the Atlantic coastline lets you see the full scale of the cliffs from the sea with commentary on the history of Hags Head and O’Brien’s Tower along the way.

  • Day 3 Doolin to Fanore

    11 Miles / 18 Km 4-6 Hrs 250 Metres

    Today’s hike leads through some of the quieter, less-visited corners of the Burren, with an optional visit to Doolin Cave adding an underground dimension to the day’s scenery. The hike then passes through the peaceful farmlands near Lisdoonvarna before climbing the side of Slieve Elva, where you can enjoy great views of the Atlantic coast and towards the Aran Islands. The descent into Fanore offers more beautiful coastal scenery as you drop down toward the beach. A short transfer returns you to your accommodation in Doolin.

  • Day 4 Fanore to Ballyvaughan

    13 or 16 Miles / 21 or 26 Km 5-8 Hrs 1640 ft / 500 Metres

    A morning transfer brings you to a varied and rewarding day, taking in coastal karst, a rugged clifftop trail, an ancient Mass Path and the fertile valley of Gleninagh. The day opens gently where an ancient ‘Green Road’ brings you to lonely Black Head with splendid views over Galway Bay. Narrow trails along the cliffs lead to a short but steep climb, before descending into the valley. Some gentle road walking leads to Newtown Castle, a 16th-century tower house with a small café. The final stretch to Ballyvaughan offers two options: a short woodland walk through atmospheric woodland and across limestone pavement, or a longer route via small roads and field paths that passes Aillwee Cave.

  • Day 5 Departure from Ballyvaughan

    Take a bus from Ballyvaughan to Galway. There are regular bus and train services from Galway. Your hosts can usually provide the most accurate local details, but if you need additional guidance, our team is happy to help.
