Starting from the seaside town of Lahinch, this hike follows the official Burren Way along the promenade and beach before heading inland on country roads, with good views opening as you approach Liscannor. The village has an unexpected claim to fame as the birthplace of John Philip Holland, inventor of the first practical submarine. The route then follows coastal tracks above Liscannor Bay to the Rock Shop, a fascinating local landmark with a tearoom attached. A short transfer returns you to your accommodation.

Today’s Discovery Day takes you to one of Ireland’s most iconic landmarks from three different angles, combining a visit to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, a hike to Doolin and an Atlantic cruise into a single, varied day.
Part 1: A morning transfer to the Cliffs of Moher & Visitor Centre where you can explore the most famous 1.5km section of the trail and enjoy breath-taking views of the cliffs that rise vertically more than 200m from the sea.
Part 2: After another short transfer, you rejoin the trail for a 6km hike along well-maintained gravel and grassy paths, with sweeping sea views throughout. A walk through the colourful village of Doolin brings you to your accommodation.
Part 3: After your hike, a Cliffs of Moher cruise along the Atlantic coastline lets you see the full scale of the cliffs from the sea with commentary on the history of Hags Head and O’Brien’s Tower along the way.

Today’s hike follows quiet country roads through the less-visited corners of the Burren, with an optional visit to Doolin Cave adding an underground dimension to the day. The route passes through peaceful farmlands near Lisdoonvarna before climbing the side of Slieve Elva on old farm tracks, where views open up across the Atlantic and toward the Aran Islands. The descent into Fanore reveals more beautiful coastal scenery as you drop down toward the beach. A short transfer returns you to your accommodation in Doolin.

A transfer in the morning brings you to the hills above Fanore, where you can enjoy views across the Atlantic before crossing the shoulder of Slieve Elva towards the Caher Valley. Paths flanked by old stone walls and scattered ruins lead you over a ridge and down into the fertile Rathborney River Valley. A highlight along the way is Newtown Castle, a 16th-century tower house with a small café. The final stretch to Ballyvaughan follows a short woodland walk, where the trail weaves through atmospheric woodland and crosses limestone pavement.
