  • Day 1 Arrival in Rathdrum

From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Rathdrum.

  • Day 2 Rathdrum - Laragh (Avonmore Way)

    6.8 or 10.6 Miles / 11 or 17 Km 4-6 Hrs 250/450 Metres

After a short transfer, you follow the Avonmore River through the beautiful Claravale Nature Reserve. The picturesque settlement of Clara with its ancient bridge invites for a picnic on the river bank. From there the trail climbs up through woodland to follow a road above the valley. You can choose to climb Trooperstown Hill before descending through more forest and across the Avonmore River on your way into Laragh.

  • Day 3 Glenealo Valley and the Spinc

    8.1 Miles / 13 Km 4-6 Hrs 550 Metres

This popular walk offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Wicklow. After a visit to the peaceful valley of Glendasan, follow the Miners Road in Glendalough to the old ‘miner’s village’. An invigorating climb brings you to a bridge at the top of the valley from where hundreds of wooden steps lead to a ridge above the lake with spectacular views back towards Glendalough. Descend via the Poulanass Waterfall to the two lakes and the monastic village.

  • Day 4 Ballinagee - Glendalough (St Kevin’s Way)

    7.5 Miles / 12 Km 4-5 Hrs 250 Metres

Follow in the footsteps of medieval pilgrims who walked to the ancient monastery at Glendalough. After a transfer to Ballinagee, follow the trail uphill towards the spectacular Wicklow Gap with its reservoir and hydroelectricity plant. You pass reminders of a rich mining heritage before you follow the descent of the Glendasan River and a peaceful walk along the river finally leads you into the Valley of Glendalough.

  • Day 5 Departure from Glendalough

There are regular bus services from Glendalough to Wicklow Town and Dublin City. We will be happy to provide you with further details upon request.
