  • Day 1 Arrival in Tinahely

From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Tinahely.

  • Day 2 Moyne - Glenmalure

    13.7 Miles / 22 Km 6-8 Hrs 700 Metres

From Moyne the trail leads you through forestry around Ballygobban Mountain. You descend into the Ow River Valley, cross a bridge and then climb towards the forested summit of Carrickashane Mountain. From the old military road, built after the Irish rebellion of 1798, you climb through forests onto the shoulder of Slieve Maan before descending to the crossroads at Glenmalure.

  • Day 3 Glenmalure - Glendalough

    8.7 Miles / 14 Km 5-6 Hrs 430 Metres

Your hike starts with a gradual climb through the forests above the majestic, glacial valley of Glenmalure, which is overlooked by Lugnaquilla, one of Ireland’s highest mountains. A short, steep climb will warm you up on your way to Lugduff Gap before you descend more gently through forestry and along the Poulanass Waterfall into the beautiful valley of Glendalough with its lakes and famous monastic ruins.

  • Day 4 Glenealo Valley and the Spinc

    8.1 Miles / 13 Km 4-6 Hrs 550 Metres

This popular walk is not part of the Wicklow Way but it offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Wicklow. After a visit to the peaceful valley of Glendasan follow the Miners Road in Glendalough to the old ‘miner’s village’. An invigorating climb brings you to a bridge at the top of the valley from where hundreds of wooden steps lead to a ridge above the lake with spectacular views back towards Glendalough. Descend via the Poulanass Waterfall to the two lakes and the monastic village.

  • Day 5 Glendalough - Roundwood

    9.3 Miles / 15 Km 5-6 Hrs 700 Metres

Follow the trail from Glendalough through Brockagh Forest and cross the Glenmacnass River before climbing up Paddock Hill. From here you leave the Wicklow Way to head for Scarr Mountain (641m) which offers beautiful views over the mountains. Your walk ends in the village of Roundwood from where you will be transferred to your B&B.

  • Day 6 Roundwood - Enniskerry

    10.6 Miles / 17 Km 5-7 Hrs 550 Metres

Today’s hike is widely considered to be the highlight of the Wicklow Way trail. After a transfer and short climb you often get wonderful views over the nearby Vartry Reservoir. You then pass above iconic Lough Tay, the famous Guinness Lake and setting for many movies and TV series. Climb up to White Hill and around the bulk of Djouce mountain before descending past Powerscourt Waterfall into Crone Woods. A short transfer will bring you to your B&B.

  • Day 7 Departure from Enniskerry

There is a regular bus service from Enniskerry to Dublin City. We will be happy to provide you with further details upon request.
