From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Laragh, where you will be staying for the duration of your tour.

  • Day 2 Glenealo Valley and the Spinc

    8.1 Miles / 13 Km 4-6 Hrs 550 Metres

Today’s hike is arguably one of the most well-known walks in Ireland and offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Wicklow. After a visit to the peaceful valley of Glendasan, you follow the Miners Road in Glendalough to the old ‘miner’s village.’ An invigorating long climb brings you to a bridge at the top of the valley, a picturesque area that is home to deer and wild goats. From here, hundreds of wooden steps lead to a ridge above the lake with stunning views back towards Glendalough. Descend via the pretty Poulanass Waterfall to the Upper Lake and then return on a wide forest trail (‘Green Road’) along the lower lake to the monastic village and the visitor centre.

  • Day 3 Trooperstown Hill

    6.2 Miles / 10 Km 3-5 Hrs 350/390 Metres

A gentle walk south from the village of Laragh leads you to mixed woodland and then up to the top of Trooperstown Hill from where you often have wonderful views of the Wicklow Mountains and towards the sea in the east. Descend through Trooperstown Wood with its tall pine trees and across the Avonmore River before you have a choice of routes to lead you back to Laragh.

  • Day 4 Departure from Glendalough

There are regular bus services from Glendalough to Wicklow Town and Dublin City. Your hosts can usually provide the most accurate local details, but if you need additional guidance, our team is happy to help.
