Carrie grew up in northern Virginia near the Appalachian Mountains, giving her an appreciation for the outdoors. The changing of seasons brought many forms of beauty from the gentleness of falling snow and the varying hues of autumn-coloured leaves. Once eighteen, Carrie moved to Galway to attend NUIG, studying English and Philosophy. Living in Galway gave her the opportunity to travel not only Ireland, but also many countries across Europe. In Ireland, Carrie met her current partner whom she has spent the last two years exploring the beauty of New Zealand and Australia alongside. They have since moved back to Galway, where they look forward discovering all that the Irish landscape has to offer. Hillwalk Tours appealed to Carrie, as it values everything that she values with regards to traveling by providing a down-to-earth and intimate experience with nature.
After all her own adventures, Carrie takes great joy in helping others organise their own. Her role as a Customer Experience Associate allows her to work closely with customers and develop a personalised travel experience. She loves that the tours are more individual focused, as we all have different skills and interests. Carrie loves creating walking packs, answering any questions that come before or along the way, and that she gets to be a part of someone’s story.
Outside of work Carrie can be found reading, crocheting, or traveling. Whether it’s a local trip or somewhere far away she likes to fill her time with new experiences by either learning a new culture or a new landscape. She might even be wearing a jumper specifically crocheted for the occasion!
