Niamh is from the town of Westport, County Mayo, one of the stops along the picturesque Wild Atlantic Way coastal route. She would say that growing up here led her to fall in love with the natural world that was always on her doorstep. After spending a year abroad in Bilbao, Spain during her studies, she developed a travel bug that she has not yet been able to shake! Here, she trekked magnificent mountains such as Kolitza in the Basque countryside, traversed scenic spots like the Sanctuary of Covadonga by foot, and even learned a little bit of the Basque language and dance (danza vasca). This experience of living abroad motivated her to foster the same kind of experiences for others, to help them create the same lifelong memories she has gained from her adventures.
As a customer experience associate, Niamh is able to use her appreciation of the outdoors to advise hikers on how to make the most of their trip. She may help by crafting walking packs, by pointing them towards local businesses and hot spots, or by simply being a friendly face they can turn to with any concerns.
Outside of work, Niamh is consistently finding new passions. She loves finding the best foodie spots in Galway, walking her dog Tikki when she’s back in Mayo, and trying out new veggie recipes whenever she can. Her truest love, however, is reading. She is always looking for the next thing to read (but actually getting through her reading list is another story!). On top of this, she attends concerts and musicals whenever she can and is generally just up for anything that gets her out of the house!
